About us

Copper is more than jewelry to us. It’s a piece of history.

My name is Margarete Hoffmann.

I’ve been working with copper since 1979 – it all began in my father’s small workshop in the Ore Mountains.

I was still young when he showed me how to shape and hammer copper by hand, turning it piece by piece into something special. What began as a craft became a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life.

Today, more than four decades later, we still make our jewelry with the same idea in mind:

Genuine materials. Honest craftsmanship. Timeless design.

An age-old tradition from the Ore Mountains

For centuries, the Ore Mountains have been closely associated with mining and metalworking. It is precisely this history that inspires our copper workshop.

While jewelry today is often produced as quickly and cheaply as possible, we want to preserve a different way of doing things.

Our jewelry is made from 99.9% pure copper – neither coated nor plated.

Each piece is free to develop its own character. Copper changes over time, acquiring a natural patina and, in time, telling the story of the person who wears it.

Jewelry that doesn’t have to follow every trend

We don’t believe in jewelry that’s worn for one season and then forgotten.

We like things that last.

A copper bracelet is allowed to show signs of wear. It’s allowed to change. And perhaps one day it will even be passed down to a daughter or granddaughter.

That, to us, is where the beauty of this material lies:

No two pieces stay exactly the same forever – and no two are ever quite alike.

My final collection

After many years in the workshop, I’m beginning to notice that my hands can no longer do everything they once could.

And my grandchildren have been telling me for some time that it’s slowly becoming time to take things a little easier.

That’s why I’m now creating my final collection.

Not because my love for this craft has faded – quite the opposite. But because the time eventually comes to close a workshop and spend more time with the people who have had to wait all these years while I wanted to finish “just one more piece.”

Everything we make in our workshop from now on will be crafted with the same care as always.

And when the last piece has found its place, a very long chapter of my life will come to an end.

Thank you for being a part of it.

When you wear one of our pieces of jewelry, you’re not simply wearing copper.

You’re helping carry on a small part of an age-old craft tradition.

And perhaps that is the most beautiful ending I could wish for my workshop.

With all my heart,
Margarete
